Biden Holds Call with Trump, Plans National Address on Thursday

 

President Joe Biden reached out to President-elect Donald Trump today to congratulate him on his election win and extended an invitation to the White House, according to a White House official.

Biden also intends to address the nation on Thursday, the official added.

"President Biden expressed his commitment to a smooth transition and highlighted the need for unity across the country,” the official stated. He invited President-elect Trump for a meeting at the White House, with staff set to arrange a date soon.

In a separate conversation, Biden spoke with Vice President Kamala Harris, acknowledging her historic campaign and extending his congratulations.
