Corsair Gaming recently addressed confusion surrounding comments from its VP of finance, Ronald van Veen, regarding the PC release of Grand Theft Auto 6. During a financial call, van Veen mentioned that GTA 6 was expected to launch for consoles in fall 2025, with a PC release following in early 2026. His statement quickly made headlines, suggesting Corsair had insider knowledge of Rockstar’s plans.
However, Corsair has since clarified that van Veen’s remarks were purely speculative. A company representative told IGN that Corsair does not receive official release date information from Rockstar or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.
As of now, Rockstar has only confirmed GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, sticking to its usual approach of prioritizing console launches. This has left PC players wondering when they’ll get their turn, especially given how crucial the platform has become for modern game sales.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently hinted at Rockstar’s strategy, pointing out that the company often staggers platform releases. “Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms,” Zelnick explained, suggesting that PC gamers may have to wait—just as they did for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
While a PC version of GTA 6 is almost inevitable, the big question is when. Given Rockstar’s past release patterns, a 2026 launch seems likely, but nothing is set in stone. For now, PC gamers will have to wait for an official word from Rockstar.
